Positivity Quilts Final Link-Up

Hello all. Today is the day! Time for all of the participants in the Positivity QAL to link up their finished quilts. This has been such an exciting time for Mercy Hospital. We are truly grateful to Preeti for creating the great pattern and hosting this QAL. So far I have received nine quilts and more are on the way!!

Everyone who submits a finished quilt is entered to win one of three prizes donated by Art Gallery Fabric. AGF is my favorite brand of fabric – both for their designs and the quality of the fabric they produce. Also, they are incredibly generous and have supported several events for me! Thank you Art Gallery Fabric!

Above is a picture of the West Palm collection designed by Katie Skoog. I have a 16 piece fat quarter bundle to give away!!

This bundle is from a few years back. Designed by Jeni Baker of In Color Order, it is called Geometric Bliss. I have an 11 piece bundle of 1/2 yard cuts!!

Finally, this bundle, Mystical Lands, was designed by Maureen Cracknell. It is a lovely bundle and I have a 20 piece fat quarter collection to give away! How great is that?!

Since I didn’t finish my Positivity Quilt (yet!), I will share a few of the quilts I received this week!

Pieced and quilted by Preeti Harris!
Pieced by Judy B. She calls it Cappucino & a Blueberry Muffin!
Pieced and quilted by Roseanne and Sue from Home Sewn By Us.
Also piece & quilted by Roseanne and Sue – but such a different look with these soft colors.
Pieced & quilted by Arlyn P. Love the black and white polka dots framing the center!
Pieced and quilted by Nikki M. Thank you Nikki!!!

Even though the quilts are made from the same block, there are dozens of ways to lay them out. With the variety of colors everyone chose, no quilts looks like the next. It is so much fun!

I cannot thank you all enough for making these Mercyful Quilts. You are all the best and I am totally grateful to be part of this tribe.

OK – now please link up your finish below. If you can’t (or don’t want to) link up, please email me a picture of your finish and I will upload it to this post.

Prize winners will be announced on September 5, 2021. Good luck to each of you!

I love to see all the various versions of this fun block! Thanks to Preeti and you Bernie for the generous donation. As you know, I donated mine to the premature baby department at my local hospital. I hope to have a photo one day, if the family agrees.

That is wonderful – I am glad you participated for a need close to you. Did you make the quilt smaller for the baby, or full size for the parent/family? Just curious. Thanks so much!

Yes it’s a baby quilt, 27″ x 27″, for the little one. It’s going to be a link between the baby in the hospital and the parents, as they will use it for holding skin to skin their baby. Later when the parents are gone for the night, it will stay with the baby. When he will be able to go home, in 2 months, he will bring the quilt with him.

That is the best! I love the whole idea. It would be great to put an extra soft flannel on the back on the quilt since the baby is so tiny and fragile. I wonder if we have a program like that out here. I will check on it. Thank you for the idea.

Thank you Bernie! Yes, adding a fleece backing is very appreciated, I did it for the second baby quilt I donated, and they love it!
I would be very happy if you can have the same partnership in US!

My quilt will be on its way to you this week. What a fun quilt along – nice pace, and such fun to see all the different quilts from the same block! Thanks to you, Bernie, and Preeti for collaborating on this, and thanks to AGF for their generous prizes!

Oh Bernie, I feel wonderful. There is so much eye candy. I noticed you have had a regular stream of Positivity coming to you from all over the country. I have goosebumps. Roseanne (who made two gorgeous quilts) suggested that we should/could make this an annual affair. Oh my goodness, what have we done!!! Lots of love and big squishy hugs to you.

Looking forward to receiving your quilt!! When you wash it, please do not use heavily scented detergent and no fabric softener. It is best to keep the fragrance level as low as possible. Have a great week and thank you so much!

Hi Bernie! I have been looking forward to today all month. Just seeing all the generosity warms my heart and restores my faith in mankind. That there was ever any doubt about the goodness in quilters! Seeing all the different variations in the quilts themselves is just the BEST. Thank you for confirming that our quilts arrived (you never know with the PO lately). Gosh, I just ADORE Preeti’s version with those spiffy blue diamonds, but then I see that black/red/white version with polka dots, and I’m certain that’s my favorite. But Judy’s version truly represents cappuccino and a blueberry muffin perfectly and doesn’t that sound yummy. I am so glad I don’t have to choose a favorite. Thank you so much for collecting all of these for the program! AND how generous you are – those FQ bundles are gorgeous. Three someones will be very lucky indeed. A big {{hug}} and sincere thank you to all that participate! ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you for participating. Also – I am not providing the bundles as prizes. They were sent to me by the wonderful people over at Art Gallery Fabric – they are sponsoring this event. That company is just so generous and supportive!

What a wonderful group of prizes you have for some lucky winners. I plan on labeling and washing mine before I send it your way. Hopefully you’ll have it before the end of the month. It’s been fun making this quilt and seeing all the variety is amazing and so inspirational. Thanks for working with Preeti on this one.

Thanks to you and Preeti for all you have done to arrange this QAL and collection. This is quilting and the quilt community at its finest.
