I am a stay at home mom living in in the Sierra Foothills in Northern California. I have four kids but only one still lives at home. My three boys are adults and live in various parts of the country. My daughter is In high school (why is it so hard for me to believe that)! We live in a rural area on three acres and love the lifestyle this allows us. I love working in our garden and I often feel torn between wanting to be in my sewing room or out in the yard. However the sewing room generally wins. I worked as a Human Resources Manager at a digital video software company for a long while and retired several years ago. Now that I am retired, I have the time (for which I am ever so grateful) to indulge my quilting/sewing/crafting hobbies. I made my first quilt many years ago and then didn’t really quilt again until about 2012. I have been sewing since I was 11 years old. My father owned a fabric store so my five sisters and I had easy access to fabric. I remember the first project I made was babydoll pajamas when I was in 7th grade (back in 1973 – wow!). The fabric was white with tiny lavender rosebuds. Sewing has been a hobby of mine ever since. Somehow over the past few years, sewing has progressed from being a hobby to being an obsession. If I am not sewing I am usually found working in our yard or in the kitchen cooking something.
This blog has been such a fun project. I have made many new friends and learned a great deal which has improved my quilting. I love to write about my quilting experiences as well as oth r projects I have going on at home. My husband and I are remodeling a tiny bungalow to use as a weekend house so there are often bits and pieces about that project included in the blog. I have an Etsy shop which has been a really rewarding experience thus far. Hope you enjoy my posts on the blog and would love to meet you via your comments!
