The Positivity QAL Progress Link Up

Hi Everyone! As I mentioned the other day, I am hosting the first link up for the Positivity QAL. The event is hosted by Sew Preeti Quilts and the quilts made will be donated to Mercyful Quilts or the charitable organization of your choice. At this point, most of us have selected our fabrics, cut pieces and made (hopefully) twelve or more blocks. If you have’t gotten very many blocks done yet, no problem, I haven’t either! Just share what you have done so far. We are excited to see where you are on this project! (For more info on Mercyful Quilts, please click here.)

Looking nice! Note, these have not been squared up yet.

Here are the eight blocks I have made so far. I am really pleased with the colors I am using and am anxious to add some yellow and gray blocks to the mix.

I haven’t yet decided on the layout I will use but until I have more blocks to play with, I won’t really think about that part.

Bloggers, please link your post at the bottom. For those participants who do not have a blog, you may send me a picture of what you have made so far (if you would like to) with your name and email. I will post it here as they come in. Use needleandfoot@gmail.com to send me a picture. OK – all of you please check back to see new pictures this week as I update the post and to check out the link ups. I will leave the linky open until July 1st.

From Rochelle S. She has 24 blocks completed already! Hurray. Love these colors. 🙂
Sunshine in the form of a quilt! In process by Nikki M. Thanks so much Nikki!!!
Check this beauty out. Made by Rachel and headed to Mercyful quilts soon!!

Thank you so much for participating! Hope you are all had a nice weekend. Be happy, healthy and creative!

I have 12 blocks done, but no post yet. Your blocks look great – I like the soft blues with the variation in the background colors. Really nice!

Lots of great blocks showing up! I need to get mine done and blogged! I didn’t have enough to do the scrappy background…I much prefer it to the white I picked. I think, though, I will make a border and fewer blocks. It will work and that will make it a more interesting quilt. So great to see all the varieties.

I like the idea of the border. Preeti’s pattern is incredibly versatile which is going to result in many unique finished quilts.

Love your blocks, Bernie. I can’t wait to see the yellow/gray blocks and how you decide to lay it all out. There are sooo many options. Thanks for hosting this link-up and for working with Preeti to encourage us all to participate in the QAL.

The yellow blocks are looking so cute – yesterday I grew bored of the blue strips and started on the yellow. It is really going to add some zing to the quilt. 🙂

Well, I don’t have a single block made and really all I’ve done is choose the background fabrics, but I will get there, eventually. Since I don’t have a blog to link up, I’ll post to IG when I have something to show.

Oh Bernie, look what you started and look how many quilters are participating. I am just giddy with happiness. And so many versions. Who knew a simple block would inspire so many variations. Thank you for all that you do. Big Squishy Hugs to you!!!

Hmmm, Preeti, I believe you started this wonderful event, created the pattern, the many ways to use it and spread the idea of making positive quilts for donation. The credit goes to you, 100%. Big hugs right back to you! Thank you for dreaming this whole thing up. I am so grateful.

I agree – lots of people are participating and I am loving the unique look of each one. Your scrappy blocks are great, as always. It seems your supply of scraps is endless – not sure how that is, considering the number of scrappy projects you produce. 🙂

I have my flimsy ready to share, and would like to post it, but I see that is not possible here. If this needs to be done “live” tomorrow, Sunday, July 18 — I can’t participate.
Is there a FB page for this group? I don’t see one, but would like to post a pic of my flimsy there, if there is one.
    Thx.

Hi Cheryl – you have all week to post yours. The link up is open until Saturday of this week. Or, you can email a picture to me and I can post in for you. It doesn’t have to be done today though. Does that help? Looking forward to seeing your quilt top!
