We had a few days of fall weather this week – it was mostly a teaser. The highs dropped to the mid 60’s which was so nice. Now it is heating back up. I am trying to be patient. I know fall is just around the corner.
To get in the mood, I have been playing with a bundle of fabric that screams Autumn.
I love the theme of Thanksgiving that permeates this line. The sunflowers are so pretty, such a deep yellow. The pumpkins provide deep green and orange accents and the turkeys are adorable (much more so than the turkeys that roam in our neck of the woods!)
There are three blenders, green, yellow and orange in the bundle.
Above is some additional yardage that I need for this upcoming project. These two are a nice pine green and a deep brown.
The bundle is called Golden Harvest and was provided to me by Paint Brush Studios. They are sponsoring a blog hop that I am hosting at the end of October. I am so excited to start the project for the hop – pieces have been cut but I haven’t done a lot of piecing as of yet.
Along with Needle and Foot, there are four more quilters participating in the hop. Mari (Academic Quilter), Janine (Quilts From the Little House), Tish (Tish in Wonderland) and Sandra (MMM Quilts). A beautiful selection of fabrics. I have a collection of fabrics with leaves. After seeing your pictures, I will look for some pumpkins and sunflower fabrics, too. I can’t wait to see what you design.
Fall has been showing itself here in Southern Oregon for the past few weeks now, with leaves turning colors and mornings being pretty chilly. Fall is a beautiful time of the year and the fabrics bundle you are working with is gorgeous! I look forward to seeing what you create with it. Have a fantastic creative day!
My maple trees are just starting to color now that the nights are really cooling off. We have just had such a warm up in the afternoons. It’s all fine though. We are getting there. I got a bit of sewing done last night which was nice; just to be looking at pumpkins and colorful leaves!

So you are a summer girl, huh? I am a fall person. I enjoy the relaxed feel of summer but it gets a bit too hot around here (and certainly where you are as well) which I don’t really enjoy. I like having open windows and not running the AC all the time. I am hoping this wave of heat this week will be the last of it for a while. Hope you had a lovely weekend Yvonne.
I want pumpkin pie! I want some NOW! But I’m okay with the summer feel that is still in our air, 🙂 I agree with you on the turkeys on fabric being cuter than in real life, got my first look at some wild ones crossing the road about a week ago.

I’m afraid I don’t have patience waiting for fall – these high 80s – 90s days are just yuck. We should have 60s at night this week but I want 60s during the day too!
Oh, yes, those turkeys are much cuter than our wild ones. Love those prints, but boy, those blenders really tug at me, too. I can’t wait to see your project. We are finally enjoying temps in the 70s this week, which definitely makes this my favorite time of year.
The blenders sort of calm the whole line a bit. Lots of pretty prints though. I made some secret sewing progress last night which was good.

Love the fabrics you chose to work with. I’m getting so excited for this hop and the weather here isn’t helping. We have started to feel the coolness in the air and means fall is right around the corner. My favorite part of the seasons is the time periods when we are shifting from one to the next.
The cooler weather has been so nice, but we are heating back up too. Beautiful and rich fabrics. Looking forward to seeing how it all goes together.
