Retail Therapy Anyone?

Just popping in this morning to share with you a bit. This has been a crazy election season and most of us have been holding our breath for days now. Not unexpectedly it looks like we will be holding our breath for a few more days. Regardless of our political leanings, disappointments or satisfaction, we live in an amazing country where we have the opportunity to vote and make our opinions known. Not all of the world enjoys these liberties. (And try not to hold your breath and grit your teeth – it isn’t healthy – relax your shoulders, inhale deeply and relax.)

Easier said than done though, right? It is very hard for me not to keep refreshing the screen on my election update page. So, I decided to create a sale for my customers. It will provide distraction and fabric bargains for you and give me distraction as I cut and ship your orders. How does that sound?

Today and tomorrow only, yardage is marked down 25% in the shop. (Sale does not apply to notions, patterns, books, sale items or precuts.) Head over and see what appeals to you! Do a little shopping and a lot of sewing – take some deep breaths – try to let it go until all of the mail-in ballots are counted. At this point, we have voted and now we wait, and we sew.

Hang in there all of you!! Just a couple more days and we will know what the next four years will bring.

OOPS!!

UPDATE – I forgot to tell you all! I pulled the winner for the holiday apron and hot mitt kit. Winner is Kathy H from Pennsylvania! Hurray for Kathy. 🙂

Good morning Bernie! Thanks for this sale, I’ll check it out after my walk! Yes, we do live in a wonderful country, and I’m certainly hoping for huge changes in the next 4 years. These have been such difficult times, not including Covid. Hugs, Laurie

Totally agree. You must be an early bird to be out on your walk already! I plan to do the same thing after a bit more coffee and some breakfast!

I am hoping this stretch of sunny warmer days we have had in NY is a sign of better days ahead. We sure need it with all the anger and division over everything. I want a UNITED states of America again. It was never this divided before. It’s wonderful you bring a light of hope to us with a sale.

Kathy, totally agree with your sentiment. the divisiveness between parties and between people in general is awful. Add the pandemic to it and our world is in quite the mess. I really hope things improve because it is unhealthy for everyone to be so angry with each other all the time. There is so much to be grateful for and it seems like many people are not remembering this. Take care and stay healthy!

Hi Bernie! What a nice offering, giving us 25% off in your shop. I do have a “need” I think. HAHA – you know how that goes. Plus, you have Carol Dean books (autographed) and I want to get at least one for my mom for Christmas. I think she’ll enjoy them. So there you have it – I know the sale isn’t on books. Thank you and. take care. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

    Bernie,
Bless you and thank you for the reminder to breath and not grind our teeth. Yes I’ve had challenges in both areas…sitting on pins and needles for certain! Very thankful for all we do have in these United States today. Think back 100 years ago and how long it took for the results to be known! Sew Sew Sew….

Dawn: Your comment inspired me to go and read about historical election tabulation. So interesting! We certainly didn’t have the minute-by-minute tabulation that happens now. Hang in there and yes, sew, sew, sew!!

I’ve been eyeballing some fabrics in your shop since forever, and I have many on my “saved” list. I especially love that bright pink Boho Bouquet, and I’m not even a pink lover! I’m struggling right now with buying more fabric because with this move I have had a first hand look at just how much fabric I have – ugh – we are trying to find space for all of it! I’m hoping to make a blog post soon about my struggles. 😉
As you may know, I am the lone Conservative in a sea of liberal quilters – lol! But I agree with you, regardless of our political affiliation, we live in an amazing country, full of opportunity and blessings. We have pretty much resigned ourselves to losing this election. I am just praying that whatever happens will be in God’s plan and for the best.

Hello lone Conservative! I thought that was kinda funny. I am actually fairly conservative and until the current POTUS always voted republican. Couldn’t do it for this guy but hoping with the next election, the GOP will put someone a lot healthier in the running. Don’t worry about it though. I don’t think one’s political preferences have much to do with quilting! I was just going to tell you not to worry about shopping during this sale as there will always be another one and then your order came across my screen. Hahaha – oh well. You are so cute – Better go organize that fabric to make room for the items I will ship off to you tomorrow! 🙂
